Apple TV+ renews horror comedy ‘Widow's Bay’ for Season 2

Apple TV+ announced that the horror‑comedy series Widow’s Bay will return for a second season, with the renewal revealed ahead of the streaming release of the Season 1 finale on June 17, 2026. The show follows New England mayor Tom Loftis (Matthew Rhys) as he confronts centuries‑old curses on his island while trying to boost tourism, and also features Kate O'Flynn and Stephen Root.

Series creator Katie Dippold explained that the concept began as a spec script for an episode of NBC’s Parks & Rec before evolving into its own Apple TV+ series. After signing an overall deal with the streamer, Dippold said the show “captures that dangerous excitement of being scared and laughing at the same time.”
