Apple TV rolls out upgraded 2025 hardware and debuts Anya Taylor‑Joy series 'Lucky

Apple has unveiled its 2025 Apple TV set‑top box, equipped with the company’s latest in‑house chip used in flagship iPhones, offering enough performance for demanding games. The base model now ships with 128 GB of storage, the higher‑end version with 256 GB, and the device supports HDMI 2.1 with variable refresh rate, bringing console‑grade video quality to the living‑room. Apple Arcade remains a core feature, and the new tvOS platform now runs GeForce Now and Xbox Cloud Gaming natively, allowing subscribers to stream AAA titles without a gaming PC.

At the same time, Apple TV announced the premiere of the limited‑series "Lucky," starring Anya Taylor‑Joy in her first leading TV role since 2020. Adapted from a bestselling novel, the action‑driven crime drama follows an escaped conman pursued by the FBI and a crime lord. The series, produced by Hello Sunshine and co‑showrunner Jonathan Tropper, launches on 15 July with two episodes and will release a new episode each week through 19 August.
