Apple TV+ schedules ‘The Savant’ for spring 2027 release

Apple TV+ has announced a spring 2027 release window for the crime thriller series ‘The Savant’, starring Jessica Chastain. The project had been in limbo for approximately a year after Apple postponed its original September 2025 premiere just three days before its scheduled debut.

The postponement followed the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk. At the time, Apple stated the decision was made after “careful consideration.” The series, which follows an undercover investigator infiltrating online hate groups to stop domestic extremists, was considered politically sensitive following the event.

Jessica Chastain previously expressed disagreement with the delay, stating on social media that she and the streamer were “not aligned” on the decision to pause the release, despite expressing respect for her partnership with Apple. The new release date arrives roughly 18 months after the original intended launch.
