Apple TV unveils new documentary series on UConn basketball and a social‑experiment romance show

Apple TV is premiering two original documentary series. The three‑part series “The Dynasty: UConn Huskies” launches on August 21, chronicling 40 years of the University of Connecticut women’s basketball program under Hall‑of‑Fame coach Geno Auriemma. Directed by Emmy‑winner Matthew Hamachek and Erica Sashin and produced by Skydance Sports, the series features archival footage and interviews with past and current players such as Paige Bueckers, Azzi Fudd and Sarah Strong.

The second series, “The Last Person on Earth,” is an eight‑episode social experiment that pairs couples with starkly opposite lifestyles and personalities to test whether differences can spark attraction. The experiment is guided by renowned couples therapist Esther Perel and produced by Boldprint Studios with executive producers Dan Gray, Lou Hutchinson, and Phil Harris. The show’s premiere date has not yet been announced.
