Apple TV+ releases second season of “Sugar” starring Colin Farrell
Apple TV+ launched the eight‑episode second season of the neo‑noir detective series Sugar on 19 June 2026. New episodes air weekly on Fridays, concluding on 7 August 2026. The show returns with Colin Farrell reprising his role as John Sugar, a blue‑skinned alien posing as a Los Angeles private investigator.
In season 2 Sugar takes on a new missing‑persons case: the older brother of Korean‑American boxer Danny Moon, while continuing his own search for his missing sister Djen. The investigation expands into a city‑wide conspiracy that forces Sugar to confront how far he will go to do what’s right. The alien community that fled Earth in season 1 has departed, leaving Sugar’s handler Ruby behind; she leaves a farewell letter, confirming she will not return.
The season adds several regulars – Jin Ha (Danny Moon), Raymond Lee (Ji Moon), Tony Dalton (Sheriff Ray Vega), Laura Donnelly, Sasha Calle and Shea Whigham – and is overseen by showrunner Sam Catlin with executive producers Mark Protosevich, Colin Farrell and others. The series retains its stylised noir tone, film‑loving narration and the recurring line from Henry, “I’m so sorry,” spoken before his death.
The launch is accompanied by a global marketing push, with Apple TV+ promoting the weekly release schedule and offering a free trial for new subscribers.
