Apple TV's Widow’s Bay Season 1 Introduces Supernatural Threats

The inaugural episode of Apple TV’s horror‑comedy series Widow’s Bay, created by Katie Dippold, is set on a cursed New‑England island where superstitious townspeople are ignored by a denial‑prone mayor. The episode mixes humor with horror, featuring a memorable jumpscare that shifts viewers from tears to laughter.

In the lead‑up to episode 4, the story pivots as protagonist Tom claims to have seen the Sea Hag and credits Wyck with saving his life. Executive producer Katie Dippold told The Wrap that the end of episode 3 marks the end of Act One, saying, “Now there’s no more denying it… something supernatural is happening. The place is cursed. He cannot fight it anymore.” The arrival of tourists raises the stakes for Tom’s growing paranoia and hints at further scares in the season.

Both pieces highlight the series’ blend of supernatural intrigue and dark comedy as it moves forward.
