Apple unveils iOS 27 with focus on performance and AI

Apple has officially introduced iOS 27, focusing on system stability, performance, and technical debt reduction rather than major visual overhauls. The update features a refined ‘Liquid Glass’ design and a new AI-driven Siri. However, due to regulatory issues, the new Siri features will not be available to users within the European Union.

Performance improvements are significant, with reports indicating apps open 30% faster, AirDrop speeds increasing by 80%, and file searches becoming up to five times faster. The update also includes optimized energy management to improve battery life. Compatibility extends to all devices that ran iOS 26, starting from the iPhone 11.

The software is currently in its beta testing phase. Recent updates, such as Beta 6, have focused on fixing bugs like Spotlight search issues and iMessage interface overlaps. The final public release is expected in September, likely coinciding with the launch of the iPhone 18 Pro series.
