Apple updates watchOS 27 beta 2 and adds CarPlay Smart Display Zoom in iOS 26

Apple released the second beta of watchOS 27, bringing a dynamic app menu that prioritises recent and frequently used apps, a new method for force‑closing apps by holding the power button and digital crown, and a red “X” button for faster notification dismissal. The update also adds a “Workout Buddy” feature that works independently of an iPhone, refines liquid‑glass animations, and introduces subtle UI colour tweaks in the Weather app and Apple Wallet.

In iOS 26, Apple introduced a Smart Display Zoom setting for CarPlay. When enabled, CarPlay automatically optimises its interface for the specific dimensions of a vehicle’s infotainment screen, allowing apps to display more content and improving readability. Users can toggle the setting in CarPlay’s Display menu.
