Apple Watch Companion enables pairing with Android devices

An open-source project named ‘Apple Watch Companion’ has demonstrated the ability to pair and activate an Apple Watch directly with an Android device, bypassing the requirement for an iPhone during the initial setup.

Hosted on GitHub, the tool utilizes AI-assisted reverse engineering to allow users to manage certain watch functions from an Android handset. Currently, users can check battery levels, manage watch faces, and adjust specific settings. However, critical features such as phone calls and health data integration remain missing or incomplete.

The project is currently a proof of concept with significant technical requirements. It requires an Android device rooted via Magisk, and successful operation has only been verified on a OnePlus 13 paired with an Apple Watch Ultra 2 running watchOS 26.2. Functionality on other hardware remains untested.
