Apple raises AppleCare+ fees for new Mac and iPad customers
Apple has announced a modest increase in the price of its AppleCare+ protection plans for Macs and iPads. The change applies only to new sign‑ups; existing subscribers keep their current rates. Monthly fees rise by $0.50 (about ¥80) and annual fees by $5 (about ¥800) for devices such as the 13‑inch MacBook Air, Mac mini, iMac, Mac Studio, MacBook Pro, standard iPad, iPad Air (M4) and iPad Pro (M5). For example, the MacBook Air monthly plan goes from $7.49 to $7.99 and the yearly plan from $74.99 to $79.99. In Europe, annual AppleCare+ prices for most iPad models increase from €79 to €89 and monthly from €3.99 to €4.49; similar €5‑€16 hikes are seen for various Mac models. Bloomberg and local media in the United States, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, South Korea, Japan and other markets report the same adjustment, attributing it to higher component and memory costs. Apple has not changed AppleCare+ pricing for iPhone devices at this time.
