Apple's India sales exceed $10 billion for first time

Apple reported that its revenue in India surpassed $10 billion for the fiscal year ending March 2026, up from about $9 billion the previous year and representing a 67% increase over three years. The growth was driven primarily by iPhone sales, with shipments reaching roughly 14 million units and the company's market share rising to 9%, the highest in its Indian history. Sales of MacBooks and iPads also contributed to the record figure.

The milestone coincides with Apple expanding its retail footprint to six company‑owned stores, including a new outlet in Mumbai, and strengthening its premium‑reseller network. Manufacturing in India has also accelerated, with about a quarter of new iPhones now produced locally, supporting the company's goal of shifting more production out of China. Indian authorities are considering extending tax exemptions on manufacturing equipment and component imports to 2041, further encouraging Apple’s investment in the country.
