Apple's iPhone 18 Pro to Feature Variable Aperture Camera and 2nm A20 Pro Chip

Industry analysts and Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman say the forthcoming iPhone 18 Pro (and Pro Max) will introduce a variable‑aperture main camera, a larger‑aperture telephoto lens and new professional‑focused photography software. The upgrades are described as the biggest camera hardware jump in several years, aiming to give users more creative control over depth‑of‑field.

The device is also expected to run Apple’s first 2 nm A20 Pro processor fabricated by TSMC, delivering higher performance and power efficiency. Additional rumored changes include a smaller Dynamic Island, a more premium back‑panel design, a larger battery, and a simplified camera‑control button. Apple has not confirmed a launch date, but the models are projected for the autumn 2026 launch cycle.
