Apple plans to equip its next‑generation MacBook Pro with OLED panels supplied by Samsung Display, introducing touch input to a laptop running macOS for the first time. The new touch‑enabled display, dubbed “Liquid Glass,” expands graphical elements and requires larger finger‑size target areas, creating ergonomic challenges as Apple must balance touch comfort with the high information density expected of a professional notebook.

Developers also face significant software hurdles. Because millions of existing MacBooks lack touch screens, macOS applications must remain fully functional with traditional input devices, avoiding any features that are exclusive to the touch interface.
