Apple's Siri AI in iOS 27 adds voice-powered photo search

Apple's upcoming iOS 27 introduces a Siri‑driven voice interface for searching photos. Users can ask Siri to locate specific items — such as “AirPods Pro box” from January 2026, Samsung phones, a Mercedes, or even clothing of a particular colour — and the assistant returns matching images from the camera roll. The feature also handles broader queries like “pictures of birds taken in a national park” or “the first photo of my robotic vacuum cleaner.” While the system generally retrieves relevant results, it sometimes returns off‑target images or requires additional prompts to refine the search.

The new voice search aims to replace manual scrolling through thousands of photos, offering quick sharing via AirDrop or the Photos app. Reviewers note that accuracy is still improving during the beta phase, but the capability demonstrates a significant step toward natural‑language interaction with personal media libraries.
