Aprender Conectado program connects 28,000 schools in Brazil
The Aprender Conectado program, managed by the Entidade Administradora da Conectividade das Escolas (Eace), has completed connectivity for over 28,000 schools across Brazil. The Northeast region accounts for the largest share, with 12,330 schools, representing approximately 48.1% of the total.
Regional distribution of connected schools includes 7,355 in the North, 3,628 in the Southeast, 1,773 in the South, and 525 in the Center-West. Flávio Santos, the program's director-general, noted that the initiative focuses on providing digital infrastructure to regions that have historically lacked access, despite geographic complexities.
To address connectivity challenges in remote areas, particularly in the North where traditional power grids may be unavailable, the program has installed solar generators in 1,573 schools. Of these, 1,513 are located in the North region.
