Aprilia Racing secures double podium in Austrian GP sprint

Aprilia Racing achieved a double podium at the Austrian Grand Prix sprint race at the Red Bull Ring. Jorge Martín secured victory after starting from pole position, marking his fourth sprint win of the season and his 20th career sprint victory. Teammate Marco Bezzecchi finished third, contributing to Aprilia’s best sprint result in Austria.

Following the race, Aprilia Racing CEO Massimo Rivola stated that team orders are not being considered while both factory riders remain mathematically eligible for the 2026 MotoGP title. Martín has reclaimed the championship lead, moving 12 points ahead of Marc Marquez, while Bezzecchi remains in third place, 42 points behind Martín.

Rivola emphasized that as long as the riders have the mathematical possibility to win, they will be allowed to compete. He noted that while the team is performing strongly, they must remain focused as rivals like Pedro Acosta remain within striking distance in the standings.
