Aprilia Takes Lead Over Ducati in MotoGP 2026 Season
Aprilia has seized a technical advantage early in the 2026 MotoGP season, winning three of the first four rounds and holding the top spots in the riders' standings with Jorge Martin and rookie Ai Ogura. Team principal Davide Tardozzi of Ducati warned that engineers must quickly improve the GP26 bike to close the gap, after Ducati’s dominance faded.
Rider Ai Ogura has become the most consistent point‑scorer on the European circuits, amassing 157 points across eight races and sitting second overall behind Martin. His performance, including a breakthrough qualifying at the Czech Grand Prix, positions him as a serious title contender. Meanwhile, Ducati’s Marc Marquez has mounted a strong comeback, winning three of the last four Grands Prix and narrowing the championship deficit, while Francesco Bagnaia shows signs of returning to form.
