Italy urban redevelopment: Aprilia municipal offices and Beko plant remediation

In Aprilia, redevelopment works have begun on the former Il Tulipano shopping center to transform the building into a new municipal headquarters. The project, valued at approximately 340,000 euros, has been directly awarded to Edil G S. r. l. of Anzio. The funding utilizes repurposed funds from a 2014 mortgage. This relocation will allow the current municipal offices in Piazza dei Bersaglieri to be converted into classrooms for 400 students at the “Gramsci” school.

Separately, a tender has been launched for the design of asbestos removal at the former Beko plant on Viale Pietro Toselli. Invitalia, acting on behalf of Sviluppo Industriale Siena, is seeking a professional to create technical and economic feasibility and executive projects for the remediation. The design contract is valued at approximately 320,000 euros, while the subsequent remediation works are estimated to cost 5.3 million euros. This step is part of a broader effort to prepare the site for future industrial re-use.
