APS to provide university scholarships for students in Sines, Portimão, and Lagoa

The Administration of the Ports of Sines and Algarve (APS) has announced a social responsibility initiative to award ten scholarships to students entering public higher education. The program is designed to support young people from the municipalities of Sines, Portimão, and Lagoa who face economic difficulties that may hinder their academic progress.

Of the ten available scholarships, eight are designated for students from Sines and two are for those from the Algarve municipalities of Portimão and Lagoa. Each scholarship will consist of a single payment of 1,300 euros. Selection criteria will consider both academic performance and the economic situation of the candidates to ensure support reaches those with the greatest financial need.

In addition to the financial aid, the program includes a mentorship component. APS employees will serve as tutors to accompany students throughout their academic journey, assisting with their adaptation to higher education and their eventual transition into the labor market. The initiative aims to promote equal opportunities and strengthen the connection between local communities and the port and logistics sectors.
