Aptos releases open-source mainnet node version 1.49.1

Aptos has released the open-source mainnet node software version 1.49.1. This update is a follow-up to a private hotfix released on September 17 and is primarily an infrastructure maintenance release for network operators.

The update targets validators and fullnodes. For validators, the upgrade is required, while for fullnodes, it is recommended. The release includes technical changes across the network’s execution, consensus, storage, state synchronization, and the Move environment. Specific improvements include gas schedule version 49, Block-STM v2 enabled by default, and fixes for nondeterministic hot-state promotion and consensus encryption-round handling.

This deployment is a software maintenance update for node operators and does not involve a protocol hardfork, token migration, or wallet updates for general APT holders. The release follows a staged process that began with a testnet candidate version to ensure stability before moving to the mainnet.
