Apucarana birth rates decline 22% over ten years

Data from the Institute of Economic and Social Development of Paraná (IPARDES) shows a 22.3% decline in births in Apucarana over a ten-year period. The number of live births dropped from 1,796 in 2015 to 1,396 in 2025.

The statistics reveal a significant shift in the demographic profile of mothers. Births among adolescents and young women have decreased sharply: births to mothers aged 15 to 19 fell by 56.6%, and those aged 20 to 24 dropped by 39.3%.

In contrast, there has been an increase in births among older women. Births to mothers aged 35 to 39 rose by 7.6%, while births to mothers aged 40 to 44 increased by 15.6%.
