Apucarana faces flooding and landslides after heavy rainfall

Apucarana, Paraná, has experienced significant flooding and landslides following heavy rainfall. According to Simepar, the municipality recorded 174.4 mm of precipitation in the first two weeks of September, exceeding the monthly average of 105.7 mm.

The Civil Defense responded to at least eight incidents involving flooding, roof damage, and landslides in neighborhoods including Jardim Aclimação, Jardim América, Residencial Solo Sagrado, Vila Reis, and Vila Operária Stabile. In Residencial Solo Sagrado, a wall collapsed and a landslide occurred, though authorities stated there was no immediate risk to residents' lives. Emergency teams have distributed tarps to affected households in several areas to mitigate further damage.
