Apucarana intensifies HPV vaccination campaign during Outubro Rosa

The City of Apucarana, through its Municipal Health Authority (AMS), is intensifying efforts to promote HPV (human papillomavirus) vaccination during the 'Outubro Rosa' awareness month. The campaign aims to prevent cervical and other cancers related to the virus.

The vaccination is available free of charge through the Unified Health System (SUS) at 28 basic health units equipped with vaccine rooms. The target audience includes boys and girls aged 9 to 14, as well as adolescents and young people aged 15 to 19 who have not yet been vaccinated.

Health officials noted that the vaccine is administered in a single dose. Medical experts emphasized that vaccination is most effective for the 9 to 14 age group, as it provides protection before potential contact with the virus.
