Apucarana launches new integrated bus transit program

The city of Apucarana has launched the ‘Apucarana Integrada’ program, a new public transit initiative designed to allow passengers to transfer between buses without passing through the Urban Terminal. Starting Monday, August 10, commuters can connect between different lines at various points throughout the city while paying only a single fare.

To qualify for this integrated fare, passengers must use the ‘Passe Fácil’ card or the BiPay application. Payments made via cash, debit, or credit cards do not grant integration privileges and will require a new fare for each boarding. The system uses electronic billing to automatically recognize the initial payment and authorize the connection within a set timeframe.

Local officials state the program aims to increase efficiency and save commuters significant time. Mayor Rodolfo Mota noted that the change provides greater freedom of movement, potentially saving passengers between 30 and 40 minutes daily by avoiding unnecessary trips to the central terminal.
