Apucarana municipal library relocates following storm damage

The Olga Antunes Pedroso Municipal Library in Apucarana is being temporarily relocated to Praça CEU (Unified Sports and Arts Center). The move follows a severe storm on September 21 that damaged the roof of the original building located at Praça 28 de Janeiro.

Mayor Rodolfo Mota stated that the relocation is necessary to protect the book collection and ensure the safety of staff and visitors while repairs are conducted. The storm also caused damage to other public buildings, including schools, health units, and childcare centers.

According to the Secretary of Culture and Tourism, Rodrigo Almeida, the transfer includes the entire bibliographic collection and approximately 80% of the furniture, such as bookshelves. The library services will resume at the new location once the collection is organized and the space is prepared.
