Apucarana resident prevents house fire after suspected short circuit

A resident in Apucarana, Paraná, successfully prevented a house fire from spreading after a suspected short circuit occurred on a Thursday night. The flames were restricted to the building's facade. The resident acted quickly by disconnecting the electrical distribution board, which prevented the fire from entering the home or affecting two neighboring houses on the same lot. No injuries or structural damage were reported, and the Fire Department arrived after the situation had been resolved.

In a separate incident in the district of Baguaçu, Olímpia, a battery-powered GPS device caught fire while resting on a shoe rack. The owner was not home at the time, but neighbors alerted them and managed to extinguish the flames before they spread further, though a bed in the room was singed. The owner later filed a police report to facilitate the transfer of tracking services to a new device.
