Apucarana's Lago Jaboti hosts preschool students for environmental education

On July 3, a group of preschool children from Escola Municipal Yukio Uemura in Mauá da Serra visited Parque Municipal Jaboti in Apucarana, Brazil. Accompanied by parents, school coordinators and teachers, the students took part in a hands‑on environmental education activity organized by the municipal Secretariat of Environment. They were welcomed by municipal secretary Leandro Gustavo Pires and received technical explanations from biologist Rodrigo César dos Santos Vida. The program, part of the "A União Faz a Vida" initiative, focused on observing capybaras and used the experience as a basis for interdisciplinary lessons in language, mathematics, arts and other curricular areas.

Mayor Rodolfo Mota and Secretary Pires highlighted the municipality’s commitment to environmental education, noting that the secretariat keeps its doors open to schools throughout the region. They also announced the upcoming revitalization of the municipal forest, which will include new ponds and upgrades to meet IBAMA standards, creating a permanent space for research, leisure and community learning.
