Prague forecast 1.6 million tourists this summer

Prague City Tourism (PCT) estimates that 1.6 million visitors will arrive in July and August, a roughly 5 % rise on the previous year and bringing the city’s 2023 total to 8.3 million tourists. Hotel occupancy averaged 71.6 % in the first five months, up 5.3 %, while the average room price rose to €120.55 per night; luxury‑segment hotels saw occupancy increase by about seven percent and prices climb to €209.

Aquapalace Praha secured a bronze place among the Czech Republic’s most visited tourist attractions, recording 1.198 million guests in 2025 and reinforcing its status as the country’s leading water‑park destination.

Prague Airport expects to handle a record 18.3 million passengers this year, driven by new long‑haul routes to the United States, Asia and the Middle East, and by recent investments in biometric facial‑recognition security checks that have cut queue times to under ten minutes.

Local guides also highlight several popular swimming spots in the capital, including the natural‑water beach at Žluté lázně, the family‑friendly Hostivař reservoir, and the eco‑filtered biotope at Radotín.
