Alessandria waste firm Amag Ambiente pledges daily off‑container trash collection

Amag Ambiente, the company that handles waste collection in Alessandria, announced that it will retrieve waste left outside bins every day. CEO Paolo Borbon said the firm’s 150 employees work three shifts from 6 a.m. to 2 a.m. to address the “tourism of waste” problem. The municipality has increased enforcement, installing five photo‑traps that have generated about 30 fines recently, and the local police are monitoring the footage. A joint communication campaign with city mayors will inform residents about the criminal penalties for littering. The council also approved measures to replace broken bins and to expand the environmental inspection team, adding a third inspector and planning a school‑focused awareness drive starting in September.
