Aquela Cia. de Teatro presents Galeano-inspired play in Manizales

The Brazilian theater group Aquela Cia. de Teatro is presenting ‘Venas abiertas 60 30 15 seg’ in Manizales. The play is inspired by the book ‘Las venas abiertas de América Latina’ by Uruguayan writer Eduardo Galeano, which explores the historical exploitation of Latin American countries by foreign interests.

Directed by Marco André Nunes, the production features a non-traditional narrative structure and a cast including Colombian-born actress Carolina Virgüez. Virgüez, who has lived in Brazil for 46 years, is an award-winning performer known for her work in both theater and film.
