Aquilonia launches XI Palio delle Contrade, marking museum’s 30‑year anniversary
The municipality of Aquilonia presented the XI edition of its annual Palio delle Contrade in the town council chamber. The festival, scheduled for six days in summer 2026, will feature traditional games, re‑enactments of historic crafts and a final carriage race, beginning with the ceremonial lighting of the Braciere di Carbonara. This edition highlights the 30‑year anniversary of the Beniamino Tartaglia Ethnographic Museum, a key cultural institution in the area. Organized with the patronage of the Aquilonia town hall and the Province of Avellino, the Palio has been added to the “Passaporto Irpino” itinerary, a project promoted by the province, the Irpinia system and the football club US Avellino 1912 to showcase local heritage and attract visitors.
