AR Ameen sustains minor injuries in Chennai car accident

AR Ameen, the playback singer and son of composer AR Rahman, sustained minor injuries following a car accident in Chennai during the early hours of Monday, August 10. The collision occurred near the Olympia Tech Park signal in the Guindy area while Ameen was traveling toward the airport.

Ameen and his friend were traveling in a Porsche when the vehicle collided with a cab. According to statements from Ameen and his sister, Khatija Rahman, the accident happened after a driver in another vehicle moved forward despite a red signal. Ameen and his friend were treated at Kauvery Hospital and subsequently discharged. A passenger in the other vehicle also received treatment at Kalaignar Centenary Super Speciality Hospital and was later discharged.

The Adyar Traffic Investigation Wing has seized both vehicles and is investigating the circumstances of the crash, including a review of CCTV footage. Ameen clarified via social media that he was in the passenger seat at the time of the incident and expressed gratitude for the support from his family and fans.
