Ağrı farmer establishes diverse garden using government subsidies

In the village of Ozanlar, Ağrı, farmer Harun Yontar has established a highly diverse garden spanning 30 decares. This initiative was supported by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry’s ‘Project for the Dissemination of Vegetable Cultivation,’ which provided a 75 percent subsidy for seedlings.

Yontar’s farm produces a wide variety of crops, including tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, and cucumbers, alongside corn, sunflower, beans, melon, watermelon, and beets. Under the guidance of the Provincial Directorate of Agriculture, the crops are grown using natural fertilizers.

The garden also functions as a hobby area where customers can pick their own produce to meet winter food needs, facilitating a direct connection between the producer and the consumer.
