Ağrı Governorship implements strict regulations for weddings and celebrations

The Ağrı Governorship has issued a comprehensive general order to regulate the use of pyrotechnics and firearms during weddings and public celebrations. Signed by Governor Dr. Önder Bozkurt, the regulation aims to enhance public safety and order.

Key provisions include a requirement for individuals or organizations to apply for fireworks permits at least 48 hours in advance. Use of fireworks is restricted to the hours between 20:00 and 22:00 to prevent noise and environmental pollution. Furthermore, fireworks may only be operated by specialists holding 'A' class igniter competency certificates.

The order establishes total bans on pyrotechnics in sensitive areas, including the approach paths of Ahmed-i Hani Airport, fuel stations, natural gas networks, forested areas, and public parks. To curb gunfire at celebrations, the regulation expands liability: wedding hosts and venue operators may be held responsible if they fail to report the use of firearms or blank pistols to law enforcement.
