Ar Redadeg begins in Brittany following Catalan Correllengua

The Correllengua Agermanat has concluded in Algiers after a 1,500 km journey spanning 17 days and passing through more than 500 municipalities across Catalan-speaking territories. The event mobilized approximately 180,000 people and 30,000 torchbearers to advocate for the Catalan language.

Following this, the Ar Redadeg has commenced in Brittany. Running from May 8 to May 16, this linguistic revitalization initiative covers 2,226 kilometers across five Breton departments, from Lannion to Nantes. Participants carry a flame and a secret message to promote the Breton language (brezhoneg) and raise funds for educational, social, and cultural projects. The event allows participants to symbolically purchase kilometers to finance language promotion initiatives.
