Ağrı teachers launch ‘Maarif’in Kalbinde Kitap Sohbetleri’ reading program

Teachers in Ağrı have launched the ‘Maarif’in Kalbinde Kitap Sohbetleri’ (Book Discussions in the Heart of Maarif) program, organized by the Ağrı Provincial Directorate of National Education. Held under the ‘Türkiye Yüzyılı Maarif Modeli’ framework, the initiative uses the slogan ‘Reading Teachers, Reading Generations’ to promote a culture of reading among educators.

The first meeting took place at the Science and Art Center, attended by Provincial Director of National Education Abdulhaluk Çakan and Branch Manager İhsan Kösen. Under the program, teachers are divided into groups to read specific books and meet periodically to discuss various perspectives and evaluate the works.

Abdulhaluk Çakan emphasized that a teacher’s reading culture directly impacts students' educational lives, noting that teachers serve as role models through continuous learning and self-improvement.
