Arab and Argentine niche perfume markets expand globally
Perfumes from the Arab world, led by brands in the United Arab Emirates, have shifted from a niche segment to a major global trend. Their high concentration of essential oils, long‑lasting scent profiles and ingredients such as oud, amber and musk are praised for superior performance, and social‑media influencers have helped them compete with traditional European houses.
In Buenos Aires, Initio Parfums Privés launched the Supercharged collection at the Edition Privée venue, underscoring the broader rise of niche fragrance. President of the Americas Yvan Jacqueline explained that commercial perfumes must sell millions of bottles, limiting creativity, whereas niche brands aim for “some people, in different parts of the world, to fall deeply in love with a perfume.” The event highlighted limited production, premium raw materials and the growing view of perfume as an emotional experience, driven by online communities.
