Arab and Muslim foreign ministers condemn Israeli incursions at Al‑Aqsa

Foreign ministers of the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Egypt, Jordan, Indonesia, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Qatar issued a joint statement condemning what they described as a sharp escalation by Israeli forces at the Al‑Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem's Old City. The ministers said settler groups, backed by extremist Israeli officials, repeatedly entered the holy site under police protection, raised the Israeli flag inside its grounds and erected police tents, actions they labelled violations of international law and United Nations resolutions.

The declaration warned that such provocations fuel hatred and jeopardise efforts toward a just, lasting peace based on a two‑state solution. It reaffirmed that the entire 144‑decare Al‑Aqsa compound is a purely Muslim place of worship, that Israel has no sovereign rights over East Jerusalem’s holy sites, and called for the immediate lifting of restrictions on access to the Old City and for the international community to act against the alleged illegal measures.
