Arab Council for Health Specializations and Arab League Commit to Strengthen Regional Health Cooperation
Dr. Adel Adawi, head of the Executive Office of the Arab Council for Health Specializations, met with Secretary‑General Nabil Fahmy of the Arab League at the League's headquarters in Cairo. The two leaders discussed ways to expand joint cooperation to develop Arab health systems and build human‑capacity across the region.
The Council presented its 2026‑2030 five‑year strategic plan, which emphasizes expanding specialist training programmes, accelerating digital transformation and forging regional and international partnerships. Preparations are under way for the Council's 2026 Forum, to be held alongside the second Arab conference on the contribution of migrant health professionals to Arab health systems. The dialogue also addressed challenges posed by the region's geopolitical shifts, the need to support health services in conflict‑affected areas, and the facilitation of mobility for teachers and trainees.
Both parties expressed a commitment to sustain cooperation, enhance the exchange of expertise, and advance sustainable health development and Arab integration in health‑workforce training.
