Arab Cybersecurity Conference opens 10th session in Cairo

The 10th edition of the Arab Cybersecurity Conference has launched in Cairo, serving as a specialized regional platform for discussing digital challenges and capacity building. The event features participation from government officials, technology leaders, and cybersecurity experts.

Ghada Labib, representing the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, emphasized that cybersecurity is a pillar of digital sovereignty and a requirement for sustainable development. She noted that as Egypt expands its digital economy, the importance of integrating security and privacy into the design phase of services increases. The National Cybersecurity Strategy 2023-2027 serves as a key reference for protecting Egypt's cyberspace.

Dr. Bahaa Hassan, President of the conference, stated that information security is no longer the responsibility of a single sector, but a requirement for every ministry and institution to develop specialized cadres. He highlighted that artificial intelligence acts as a double-edged sword, capable of both detecting attacks and facilitating more complex cyber threats, necessitating increased vigilance and cooperation between institutions and nations.
