Arab League praises Saudi program for Yemen development project

The Economic and Social Council of the League of Arab States has commended the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen for its role in strengthening institutional and human capacities in Yemen. During its 118th ministerial session in Cairo, the Council specifically praised the program for overseeing the implementation of the Industrial and Commercial Institute project in Aden.

The institute, which operates under Yemen’s Ministry of Industry and Trade, aims to enhance the skills of government personnel, local producers, and exporters through training, workshops, and technical assistance. It is designed to support entrepreneurship, promote Yemeni exports, and serve as a reference for economic studies and consultancy to aid in industrial and commercial development strategies.

The project is funded by the International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation and the Yemeni Ministry of Industry and Trade, with supervision from the Saudi program as part of the “ATFias 2.0” initiative. The Council called upon specialized Arab organizations and financial institutions to provide the technical support necessary to operate the institute and bolster Yemen’s economic recovery and sustainable development.
