Arab Radio and Television Festival opens in Carthage

The 26th edition of the Arab Radio and Television Festival opened on Monday at the Roman amphitheater in Carthage, Tunisia. Organized by the Arab States Broadcasting Union (ASBU) under the theme ‘The pulse of the image, the echo of the future’, the event runs from September 21 to 24.

The opening ceremony featured a musical performance by Iraqi singer Rahma Riad and Syrian singer Nassif Zeytoun, who performed their 2024 duet ‘Ma Fi Leil’. The festival also included an awards ceremony honoring twelve media and artistic personalities from nine Arab countries, including Egypt, Lebanon, Syria, Oman, Iraq, Kuwait, Mauritania, and Comoros.

Activities are split between Tunis and Hammamet, with the professional segment held in Hammamet. The festival will conclude on September 24 at the Opera House in the City of Culture with a musical performance of ‘Safar Ilayka wa Ghanni’ by Karim Thleibi, alongside the announcement of winners in radio, television, and new media competitions.
