Arab States Broadcasting Union discusses AI and media exchange

The Executive Council of the Arab States Broadcasting Union (ASBU) held its 115th meeting in Hammamet, Tunisia. Chaired by Saudi Arabia, represented by ASBU President and Saudi Media Forum Chairman Mohammed bin Fahd Al-Harthi, the meeting included delegations from various Arab broadcasting authorities.

Discussions focused on the integration of artificial intelligence and new digital tools within the media industry. Al-Harthi emphasized the necessity of preparing for these technological shifts by utilizing data and modern technologies. The council highlighted efforts to develop digital infrastructure, including cloud platforms and the integration of AI into the ‘ASBU’ cloud platform.

The meeting also reviewed recent achievements in news and programmatic exchanges, as well as coverage of major regional events such as the Hajj and Umrah seasons. Additionally, the council addressed the quality of media training programs provided by the ASBU Media Training Academy to meet evolving audiovisual standards in the Arab world.
