Arab Strap releases ninth album ‘Half-Told Tales’

The Scottish duo Arab Strap has released their ninth studio album, ‘Half-Told Tales’, marking nearly thirty years since their first single. Released via Rock Action Records, the album represents a melding of the distinct musical personalities of Aidan Moffat and Malcolm Middleton.

While the duo previously went on hiatus following 2005’s ‘The Last Romance’, they have since reunited to produce this latest work. The artists have described the record as a definitive statement of their current artistic standing, noting that it feels like an ‘emptying of the cupboards’ regarding their available material.

Musically, the album explores diverse sounds, including what the duo describes as ‘disco-metal’ on the single ‘Toi Toi Toi’. The tracks range from house-influenced grooves and dancefloor-oriented sounds to acoustic guitars and post-rock elements, maintaining the duo's signature themes of social disillusionment alongside unexpected notes of hope.
