Arabella Stanton shares first Hermione audition footage

Arabella Stanton, cast as Hermione Granger in HBO’s upcoming Harry Potter series, recently shared a throwback to her first audition for the role, which took place when she was 10 years old. The footage of her audition is featured in the special “Finding Harry: The Craft Behind the Magic,” which provides a behind-the-scenes look at the casting process for the new adaptation.

During the casting search, the team reviewed more than 40,000 auditions to find the new lead trio. Stanton will star alongside Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter and Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley. In addition to her upcoming acting role, Stanton has already voiced the character in new full-cast Harry Potter audiobooks. The HBO series is intended to adapt the original seven-book series over multiple seasons.
