Arabella Tarpey qualifies for Australian Shortboard Titles

Arabella Tarpey, a commentator working a state surfing competition, secured a spot in the Australian Shortboard Titles after deciding to compete on short notice. After a participant withdrew 20 minutes before the heats began, Tarpey transitioned from her media role to the water.

Tarpey, a resident of Pambula, finished in third place, which qualified her for the national titles. She noted that her lack of expectations helped her performance. She will balance both roles at the upcoming Australian Titles in Wollongong, where she is scheduled to commentate while also competing in her heats.
