Arabic perfumes see surge in popularity across Brazil
Arabic perfumes are experiencing a significant surge in popularity within the Brazilian market. Google Trends data indicates a 150% increase in searches for these products since 2024, with a 140% rise in searches specifically for “original Arabic perfume”. This trend is expanding beyond traditional fragrances into lighter formats, such as body splashes, which offer more casual olfactory experiences. Major brands gaining traction include Lattafa, Al Wataniah, Armaf, and Orientica.
The rising demand has also led to an increase in counterfeit products. Experts and Anvisa (the Brazilian Health Regulatory Agency) warn that sophisticated fakes often use identical packaging and labels to mislead consumers. To ensure authenticity, authorities recommend verifying the product's provenance and using Anvisa's online consultation system with the 17-digit regularization number found on the label.
