Aracaju to replace Orla da Atalaia tourist sign
The City of Aracaju will begin replacing the ‘Eu Amo Aracaju’ tourist sign at Orla da Atalaia on Monday, the 24th. The project aims to transform the landmark into a monument that reflects the history, culture, and landscapes of the Sergipe capital.
Each letter of the new sign will incorporate specific local symbols, including the Market Clock, São João flags, cashew nuts, the Orla Arches, local rivers, and the Imperador Bridge. The project is coordinated by the Municipal Tourism Secretariat (Setur) and will be executed by the Municipal Company of Works and Urbanization (Emurb).
The construction process involves installing safety fencing, removing the existing structure, and building a new concrete foundation to ensure greater stability and durability. The works are expected to be completed within 45 days, with planning in place to minimize disruption to visitors in the area.
