Araceli González discusses Argentine SME crisis and business closures
Argentine actress and entrepreneur Araceli González has commented on the difficult economic climate facing small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Argentina. She noted that declining consumption has led to the closure of numerous businesses, including more than 30 SMEs recently.
González specifically addressed the permanent closure of Helicia, a vegan clothing and accessory brand founded in 2013 by her daughter, Florencia Torrente. She attributed such closures to the lack of support networks for companies struggling under current economic conditions.
Since the pandemic, González has focused on her business ventures, including the cosmetics brand G. ara Cosmetics, which she launched in mid-2023 with her husband, Fabián Mazzei. While she expressed a desire to return to television and digital streaming, she noted that her entrepreneurial responsibilities require significant time and effort.
