Aracruz and Netherlands discuss environmental cooperation
The municipality of Aracruz, Brazil, hosted a delegation from the Netherlands to discuss environmental management initiatives and knowledge exchange. The meeting focused on biodiversity conservation, water resource protection, and sustainable development.
A Protocol of Intentions was signed to establish a framework for a future Technical Cooperation Agreement. This partnership aims to support the Aracruz Biodiversity Corridor through territorial and ecosystem analyses, integrated landscape approaches, and technical-scientific exchanges.
The collaboration leverages Dutch expertise in sustainable agriculture, natural resource management, and the integration of economic development with environmental preservation. Inge Horstmeier, a counselor for agriculture, fisheries, food security, and nature in Brazil, emphasized that the transition to sustainable agriculture requires close collaboration and the exchange of knowledge to ensure harmony with nature.
